Ribeira Brava, 02 de Maio. - Seguindo a máxima do poeta «tud criston, tud cimbron tem direite na sê gota d’água» a Câmara Municipal da Ribeira Brava vem envidando os esforços possíveis para que esse desiderato seja, de facto, uma realidade neste município. No passado dia 29 de Abril, numa cerimónia singela mas de enorme importância para a população do Canto da Fajã, o edil da Ribeira Brava, Américo Nascimento, e o representante da Cooperação Luxemburguesa, convidado para o efeito, abriram, simbolicamente, a torneira, numa casa particular, como prova concreta de que, finalmente, a água chegara a Canto Fajã e, gradualmente, em todos os domicílios naquele fértil e produtivo povoado. Um munícipe daquela localidade, conhecido por «Pá Zê», em nome da população e com certa emoção, exteriorizou a sua satisfação e agradeceu pelo cumprimento da promessa do Senhor Presidente da Câmara o qual vem pôr fim aos enormes sacrifícios por que as pessoas passavam ainda há bem poucos anos atrás em que, à busca de uma lata de água, percorriam mais de uma dezena de quilómetros para o qual eram obrigados a levantar-se ainda de madrugada, gastando, consequentemente, grande parte do dia, ficando, por isso, muita coisa importante por fazer. O presidente da Associação Comunitária de Desenvolvimento do Canto Fajã, «TARTOLHO», agradeceu não só o envolvimento da Câmara Municipal com a parceria da Cooperação Luxemburguesa, na concretização desse grande empreendimento mas também aos trabalhadores locais que trabalharam sem brincadeira para esse bem comum. O representante da Cooperação Luxemburguesa manifestou publicamente a satisfação por o governo do seu país ter participado neste projecto que vem trazer satisfação e melhoria das condições de vida das pessoas e mostrou-se particularmente satisfeito por ver que a contribuição deles está bem empregue em projectos de cariz eminentemente social. O edil da Ribeira Brava felicitou a população por mais esta vitória, agradeceu a Cooperação Luxemburguesa pela importante comparticipação e garantiu aos presentes que tudo fará para continuar a merecer a confiança dos munícipes, cumprindo o prometido na sua Plataforma Eleitora. Tanto a Câmara Municipal e a Cooperação Luxemburguesa receberam elogios dos presentes que fizeram questão em cumprimentar, pessoalmente, esses amigos que muito têm feito para o bem-estar das populações.
